Josh Darr - Meteorologist

Josh Darr is a meteorologist with Chesapeake Energy Corporation conducting weather analysis and forecasting for global weather conditions in both the mid-latitudes and global tropical weather patterns and how they impact both energy and agricultural sectors.

Prior to joining Chesapeake Weather in June 2007, Josh spent five years working at Risk Management Solutions conducting natural catastrophe modeling of worldwide meteorological and geological hazards and their impacts to the insurance and offshore energy industries. Josh was a lead tropical meteorologist for RMS in real-time catastrophe response efforts for Atlantic Hurricanes for hurricane forecasts and the resulting financial impact to insurance/reinsurance companies. Additionally, Josh served as project manager for several securitized transactions of catastrophe bonds spanning from 2004-2007.

Josh holds a Bachelor's Degree in Meteorology from Cornell University (2000) and a Master's Degree from SUNY Albany (2002) where he studied the interaction of mid-latitude and tropical weather systems, with an emphasis on hurricane forecasting.
